My Story

Hi, I'm Alan, and my life revolves around the enchanting world of baking. With a fervent passion for all things baked and a bit of an appliance obsession, I've spent my career perfecting the art of baking. For 20 years, I was at the helm of my own bakery, pioneering web-based sales in an era when ordering a gift basket online was a novelty. My journey in the baking industry began long before digital shopping carts became the norm, back when customers would rather call than click to order.

My experience spans over decades, accumulating a wealth of knowledge in baking and confectionery. After selling my bakery, I shifted my focus to sharing this rich expertise. My approach to teaching is centered on small group interactions, where I employ articulate explanations and easy-to-understand analogies. This method not only makes learning fun but also ensures everyone has a fantastic time and, most importantly, enjoys delicious treats.

My classes are hands-on and participatory, designed to engage and inspire. Whether you're hosting an event at your home, at a designated site, or in my private commercial kitchen in Toronto, I am here to guide you through the magical process of baking. From bread-making to crafting the perfect éclair, my classes cover a wide range of baking techniques.

Understanding that not everyone may have the necessary equipment, each class description includes a basic equipment list. If you're missing something, don't worry – arrangements can be made to ensure you have everything you need for the class.
